and she justified herself that this little boy has stolen items in her shops three times. Indeed, this little boy didn’t tell her who his parents were. So out of anger, she roped him in to a motorcycle.
Reaction:
First of all, I was quite shocked of the incident because I have never seen anyone roped a child to a motorcycle as a punishment. Honestly, I think it is a bit too much. Even though the little boy has took some items of her shop three times, she should have lecture him since the first time, and not letting this endure. If he doesn’t say who his parents are, she could have just say ok then you are going to be sitting here. Like they are so many ways of solving the problem why should we be hard on those kids. Maybe the boy stole items due to not being able to afford it. But at the end, he should not have done that. Also, I can’t tolerate the fact that people attack the shopkeeper’s family members because they are blameless. People should be more thoughtful and respectful in social media.
Questions:
What did the little boy steal from her shop and for what reason? Is it due to his financial status or due to his desire?
Why didn't the woman lecture him since the first time that he steal?
How was the reaction of the boy’s parent when they got the news ?
Wasn’t there another way to punish the little boy?
Why didn’t the people around there, help him instead of taking videos and photos ?

ReplyDeleteI thought the incident happened for a short while without critical thinking. Both of them or the whole situation solved the problems at the end as you said why the shopkeeper lectured him since the first time that he stole. However, it already happened, the shopkeeper and the boy are victims in different ways, so the only thing they can do now is ACCEPT the results.

As I knew about the incident it happened by misunderstanding, maybe both of them are can’t solved the problem and the merchant lectured the boy at the first time that he stole. Well, I think that he didn’t understand lao mother tongue and it makes him doesn’t know anything that the merchant has told before.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the owner shouldn't do that to the boy. Maybe it was because she was angry that the boy had already stolen three times and maybe she was educated him at first time but the boy didn't do and still do the same thing. However, owner was wrong to tie the boy to the motorcycle because it would be cruelty.
